In September 2013, he was recruited from FC Porto to Chelsea but later on loaned to Vitesse. Atsu has since netted seven times in all his 27 appearances at Vitesse which won him the team's board end of season awards.
He told Voetbal International: "It all depends on Chelsea. If they say that I have to stay in London, then why not?
"Here, I get the chance to develop myself and at Vitesse we play an attacking system.
"Suppose I move to a bigger club and am placed on the bench or I move to a team that plays counter-attacking football, that would leave me feeling like I am going to the office and taking a nap on my desk.
"I haven't heard anything yet from Chelsea. That will probably happen after the end of the season, like it was at Porto.
The 22-year-old forward was taken from Porto to Stamford Bridge in September 2013, with Chelsea winning a keenly-contested chase for his signature.
From the looks of things, Jose Mourinho might sign him up for a position in their next season after he pull up an impressive performance in Vitesse.
He was voted player of the season by Vitesse fans for his performance in helping to place the team into the final week of the season in the Europa League.
Christian Atsu is, however, eager to ensure that he continues to take in regular football and would be open to another loan switch if a suitable opportunity presents itself.
