The Ghana Black Stars could have easily made it to the round of 16 and even further if they had worked as a team and avoided many of their distractions.
Even before the start of the tournament, many Ghanaians remained skeptical on the chances of qualification from the group stages (Group of Death), but the performance from the Black Stars brought hope until the misfortunes started.
The Black Stars lost two matches and drew one, which lead to their early and record-breaking exit from the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

GBC reporter (Owusu Bempah) said " they were looking tired in the game because they were counting their monies in the evening( i.e $100,000).". It was evident from the performance of several players like John Boye (created an own goal) and Fatau Dauda ( gave a free ball to Christiano Ronaldo). Their concentration was clearly off the pitch, which led to two goals from the Portuguese side.
- Sulley Ali Muntari's Exit
Sulley Muntari has undoubtedly being one of the best players in the Black Stars. Even before he was sacked indefinitely from the Black Stars from an alleged attack on a management member, he couldn't have played against Portugal because he got two yellow cards from previous matches against U.S.A and Germany.
