Sperm Quality Can Be Affected by Keeping Mobile Phones in Trousers

By on 02:08

Scientists think that keeping mobile phones in pockets may have a significant effect on the fertility of men. Mobile phones operations release radiations which could be detrimental in the production of sperms for reproduction. Scientists have adviced men to avoid putting mobile phones in pockets of trousers because the electromagnetic emissions reduced the viability and health of sperms by a significant percentage ( 8 %). This can be seen in the increasing infertility rate of most of the adult population of developed countries. Currently, an estimate of 13% of couples have infertility issues. Research conducted by Scientists at the University of Exeter, led by Dr, Fiona Matthews, suggested that the sperm quality can be affected in three diverse ways: Viabilty (i.e. the number of healthy sperms) Mortility (i.e. the ability of the sperms to move towards the egg) Concentration of Sperm cells in semen (i. e. the average quantity of sperm cells compared to seminal fluids) A part of their research paper published in the journal Environment Today, stated that " For example, recent evidence found wifi from laptops also negatively impacted sperm quality. A better understanding of the collective influence of environmental factors of sperm quality and subsequent fertility will help improve treatmen, advice and support for individuals seeking fertility treatment" They further adviced men with fertility issues to reduce the act of putting mobile phones in the pockets of their trousers.
