When I think of what I'd really love for Valentine's Day, I think of a nice romantic dinner (not cooked by me), candles, or maybe a surprise restaurant reservation booked by my significant other (read my top picks for things to do on Valentine's Day). Being given gifts is not something I correlate to Valentine's Day. Christmas? Yes. All the gifts all the time.
I'm not sure if this makes me one of those 'cool' girls, or if gifts are what most women expect on this day. However, I (nor any of my girlfriends polled) would not be opposed to gifts. "I hate being given things for free" is something nobody has said, ever.
So if you can't be bothered to figure out an evening (or a day's worth) of gestures that make your girlfriend, the girl you like, or some random girl on the street feel special, at least get a good gift. Here are 10 things I wouldn't hate getting on Valentine's Day from a guy I'm dating (or just like).
